Even though I was always interested in shoes, I would say that my interest became an obsession about 4-5 years ago during the college days. All it took were a couple roommates working for Nike and a few "friends and family" coupons, it was over. My favorite shoe of all time has to be the Jordan XIs. I still remember seeing these displayed for the first time when MJ came back out of retirement, and Ahmad Rashad featured it during a playoff game. Once I saw it, I knew I had to have it.

These days, as shoe manufacturers are pumping out old school stuff to new high tech laceless, "Marty McFly" style stuff, I still like to stick with what works, and what I can get at a good deal on. I don't know, some shoes are just too old school, and some are just too high tech for me to appreciate. I just get what I like. Some shoes I buy to wear and some are just there for my viewing pleasures. As for now, I am still buying more than I should, and I know I will eventually come to my senses and say, "What the hell am I doing???" But hey, we only walk down this path we call life once, might as well have some nice shoes.
